5. Yoane Wissa (£5.5m)
Wissa has ownership of under 1% at the moment making him a super differential pick. Apart from that Brentford have a favorable run of fixtures after game week 2 making him a good pick.
Last season he got 7G and 1A, accumulating a total of 92 points. His underlying numbers are pretty encouraging to 2.31 shots and 0.71 chances per 90 as well as taking 3.7 touches in the penalty box.
Eriksen’s departure means he could be given a more advanced role which is unmatched for players at his price.
4. Bruno Guimares (£6.0m)
Newcastle’s first major signing has more than just hit the ground running. Since his move from Lyon, Bruno has averaged the third most points for any midfielder at his price point.
He got 5G and 1A in the final 7 games of last season. He is the best outfield player for shots (20), and expected goal involvement (3.79) at Newcastle. A solid pick that will free up more of your budget for your premium midfielder or forward.
3. Andreas Pereira (£4.5m)
£4.5m is usually the price of midfielders who don’t get any minutes or are CDMs who don’t score a lot. But since Pereira’s move to Fulham was confirmed, we’ve got an attacking player priced this low.
Last season he had a good season with Flamengo where he got 7G and 2A they wanted to keep him but were priced out by Man Utd. We could see him finally flourish at Fulham under Marco Silva.
He does have a tough first few fixtures, but with most FPL managers playing with 4 midfielders, Pereira could be the perfect 5th option for your team.
2. Pedro Neto (£5.5m)
Pedro Neto is back after his long-term knee injury with a £1.0m price drop, making him a good budget option. Wolves have moved to a back 4 system and are looking to move away from their defensive tactics.
He is owned by over 20% of FPL managers, indicating that many managers see potential in him. Before his injury, he got 5G and 8A. With Jimenez injured and set to miss the start of the season, Neto will be the one leading the line making a great asset.
1. Gabriel Martinelli (£6.0m)
A really exciting option but also a bit of a rotation risk, Martinelli has the potential to be a game changer in FPL. The likes of Bowen, Saka, and Maddison, have all received a huge price rise, leaving Martinelli well placed to be the budget midfielder in your starting XI.
Arsenal look like a really exciting, attacking side, and Martinelli is set to get a lot of minutes, so he could be a great budget option for your team. He looked to have Arteta’s confidence and even got 1 goal and 3 assists in his last four Premier League matches.
