Leicester City had a disappointing season, finishing 8th and missing out on Europe. After finishing in the top six for consecutive seasons, 8th place was far below what the fans expected from Brendan Rodgers.

They have been rather quiet in the transfer window this summer, adding to the massive frustration amongst the Leicester fans. With West Ham, Arsenal, Newcastle, and Manchester United all making moves, Leicester City could enter another season where finishing in the top six could be highly unlikely.

3. Jamie Vardy (£9.5m)

Vardy needs no introduction, does he? One of the Premier League’s most prolific strikers, Jamie Vardy, was once again brilliant last season despite his side’s inconsistencies. Vardy scored 15 goals in 25 appearances, 1.6 per game at 35 years of age. Last season, he had the second most goal involvements for Leicester City in the Premier League and the highest goals per game ratio. Vardy had an xG of 9.5 and an xA of 1.6 last season.

Vardy is now 35, but despite his age, he still is looking sharp in dangerous areas. However, his pace has decreased slightly over the past couple of years, and the number of games he’s played has also declined.

Vardy scored a cool 133 points in the 2021/22 campaign and is still a great pick amongst strikers should your team have more premium players in other positions.

He will again not play more than 30 games this season as his body might not allow him to do so, but he will still play a key role in this Leicester side.
