Lewandowski Making La Liga Look Like A Farmers League?

The Biggest Match Of La Liga Thus Far – The Madrid Derby

We already knew this match was going to be a heated affair as Koke took a jibe at Vinicius’ dancing celebration, which didn’t go down well with the Brazilian. All the hysteria around players celebrating is downright obnoxious. Neymar got booked for a celebration while an agent made a racist comment against Vini on Live TV. Absolutely disgraceful.

Now coming to the match itself, Koke was right in the thick of things from the kickoff. The dark arts were in full effect as he kicked the ball at Valverde when he was down. Yet, for all the mind games, trash talk, and racism, it was Rodrygo who opened the scoring, blasting the ball into the roof of the net.

Vini joined in as the Brazilian duo danced in defiance at the Metropolitano. Valverde then doubled the lead as he smashed in Oblak’s save into the back of the net.

Atleti weren’t done just yet as they managed to pull one in the final minutes of regulation time through Hermoso. Tensions boiled over as both sides got into a brawl, and the goalscorer was later sent off. Ancelotti’s men kept their perfect record and once again proved that they’re not just a one-man team.

Lopetegui hangs on for another week! Sevilla has had a difficult start to the season with only 1 win in 5 heading into this game, while Villareal has been impressive under Emery. Oliver Torres got Sevilla the lead against the run of play just 8 minutes into the match, and the team had something to defend and hold onto.

Villareal dominated the procession, and Parejo even rattled the crossbar with a thunderous strike. Baena got the breakthrough, and it looked like Sevilla was destined for another L as they gave away a pen. VAR came to their rescue as Pino was deemed offside before the challenge. It ended all square as Sevilla sneaked out of Estadio Ciudad with a point.
