Belgium and Poland are set to lock horns later today, looking to secure all three points, top this group and advance to the playoffs of the UEFA Nations League. Coming in with opposing fortunes, Belgium, who’d be considered the favourites have a point to prove while Poland will look to create some sort of winning streak.

Will Belgium score a goal in the first half against Poland?

If you look at all the Nations League games so far, most have had a slow start perhaps because of player fatigue from the long and hard season with their clubs.

Most goals have been scored in the second half, at least, that’s how it has panned out in the competition thus far. Belgium are without Romelu Lukaku who is their main focal point of attack, so they could struggle in front of goal against what is a resolute Poland defence.

Poland tend to sit back in a deep block, and with Lukaku missing for the Belgians it is more likely that they won’t score early on.

Will Belgium win the match against Poland?

Belgium come into this game with a fire in their belly and a point to prove after being thrashed 4-1 by the Netherlands. It is not every day that a team as star-studded as the Belgium team gets thumped 4-1. It was a poor showing despite the star names in their squad and Roberto Martinez will look to get his side back in the reckoning for this competition with a win tonight.

Poland will make the game difficult and will look to shut out Belgium and the Belgians will have to work hard to score and win the game. However, all signs point toward Belgium creating a lot of chances in wave after wave of attack on the Polish goal.

So a win for Belgium is what is expected.
