With just 3 more gameweeks until the World Cup, we are at the business end of the first half of the season. From here on, upside matters more than long term picks as any mistakes can be rest with a wildcard post gameweek 16.
Considering the above factors, here are our top 5 FPL players to watch for gameweek 14 of the 2022/23 season.

5. Vitalii Mykolenko (£4.5m)
Fulham, Leicester, and Bournemouth – these are Eeverton’s next 3 fixtures until gameweek 16. Fresh off of a cleansheet and assist in a resounding win against Palace, Mykolenko has the fixtures and the form. He is also priced very reasonably at £4.5.
The marauding fullback has started every single game for the Toffees and played 90 minutes in all of them except one. He has been part of a defense that’s conceded just 12 goals this season and kept 3 cleansheets. The Ukrainian has also been getting into more forward positions off late, as evident by his assist from last week. He is a great budget option for the next 3 gameweeks.
4. Diogo Dalot (£4.7m)
Dalot has cemented his place in United’s team in some style. In United’s game against Chelsea, he got into forward positions repeatedly, indicating his points potential. He’s started all games this season and has 4 cleansheets and 1 assist to his name. United have looked good defensively, ever since their humbling against City. They’ve conceded just 2 goals in 4 games since then, with a cleansheet against Spurs amongst that run.
Owned by 10.2%, he is a popular pick among FPL managers. But his price, form, fixtures, and the team he plays for, his ownership will soar even higher. At £4.7, he’s a worthy set and forget option until the World Cup break.
3. Miguel Almiron (£5.4m)
Almiron has been a shot creating monster this season with 32 SCA to his name. He has also outperformed his xG of 3.9 in the 1000 minutes he’s played. With Newcastle currently flying in the league, Almiron is difficult to ignore. Despite Newcastle having an array of attacking talent in Wilson, Saint-Maximin, Isak, Joelinton, and Guimaraes, the diminutive South American is their most potent threat in the box.
Ever since a drunk Grealish celebrating Man City’s title win slandered Almiron live on video, the Paraguayan has scored 6 goals for Newcastle as opposed to Grealish’s 1. Looks like he took those comments personally, but FPL managers couldn’t care less as he provides a wonderful option at a ridiculously low price of just £5.4.

2. Gabriel Jesus (£8.0m)
Not having an Arsenal asset this gameweek when they face Forest, would be a crime. Despite Forest’s shock 1-0 win against Liverpool, they are the team to target when it comes to FPL. The Gunners have an array of options, but something tells me this is the game where Jesus ends his 3-game goal drought.
Having been largely responsible for Arsenal’s great start to the season, his involvement has been overshadowed by Saka and Martinelli in recent weeks. However, Forest are a side that have conceded 23 goals and sit rock bottom. Chances will be there for the taking, and with an xG of 6.1 this season, he can expect great service too. 1. Kevin De Bruyne (£12.3m)
Pep broke our hearts last gameweek as he benched Foden, who was brought in by FPL managers in the thousands. Nobody can predict the Pep roulette, but we can safely assume that De Bruyne will feature this weekend, having been completely rested as an unused sub in City’s draw against Dortmund midweek.
Foden was the highest scoring midfielder until last gameweek, but De Bruyne’s goal against Brighton has now put the Belgian firmly in 1st place at 70 points. A rested KdB, 3 great fixtures until gameweek 16, what’s not to like? He faces a Leicester side, who despite their resurgence have conceded the second-highest number of goals this season at 24. This game has gotten a KdB points haul written all over it.
