It’s FPL double gameweek time, and we have 3 big guns in Man City, Tottenham and Man United offering FPL managers two bites at the cherry for their picks to haul in big points.
But double gameweeks can be brutal with their wild points swings, so we take a look at the 5 best double gameweek players to watch out for in gameweek 20, with the exception of Haaland who is probably nailed in every FPL team in the game, even the inactive ones.
5. Luke Shaw (£5.1m)
Luke Shaw scored his first goal of the season last gameweek against Bournemouth and amassed 15 points in a single game, more than the likes of Cucurella, Trippier and Cancelo put together, one of whom even had a double gameweek. With Ten Haag getting a tune out of his players, Shaw is the most in-form defender in the PL right now.
He has a whopping 32 points since the PL restart, the highest total of any player post the World Cup. With United most likely having another double gameweek lined up before GW22, it is imperative that Shaw is a mainstay in your teams, especially with Dalot being an injury doubt. Costing just £5.1m and ridiculously under-owned at just 15.9%, he provides significant value.
4. Riyad Mahrez(£7.5m)
Playing the Pep roulette might not be for the faintest of hearts, but Mahrez’s form has been so good that it’s difficult to not consider him before a double gameweek. With 20 points and amassing points in each of his 3 previous outings in the PL, Mahrez is Man City’s in-form attacker and he even bagged a brace in the FA Cup against Chelsea.

The Algerian international was subsequently rested for City’s 2-0 loss to Southampton in the EFL Cup, indicating a likely start this weekend with City needing to show a reaction and win in order to keep pace with Arsenal at the top. In such form, even Pep at his ruthless best wouldn’t be brave enough to drop him to the bench.
3. Kevin De Bruyne (£12.5m)
De Bruyne is probably the only certainty in this Man City team. With City needing to put their patchy form since the restart to bed and accumulate wins, Pep will look to his experienced players to get consistent results again. In the last 3 PL games, KdB has created 12 chances, 4 big chances, and accumulated an xGi of 1.93 but without much to show for in terms of FPL points. But with such numbers, he is due a points haul soon.
For those understandably not having the stomach to get Mahrez in for City’s double gameweek, De Bruyne is not just a safer bet, but also an explosive one. With Salah not in the best goalscoring form, it should be a straight swap for those owning the Liverpool forward.
2. Harry Kane (£11.6m)
Spurs are another team that have a double gameweek for this round of fixtures. But they face tough opposition in league leaders Arsenal and current champions Man City. However, despite Spurs’ inconsistent form, the North London club have a knack of producing results in these big games.
Harry Kane has scored 15 goals this season already, only second to Haaland. He’s continued his excellent form post the restart, with 3 goals and 2 assists to his name in 3 games. Kane has scored 13 times against Arsenal in his career, with 3 of those in his last 2 meetings against them. Similarly, Kane also bagged a brace in his previous outing against Man City at the Etihad. This bodes well for FPL managers looking to get an in-form Kane into their lineups for his double gameweek.
Harry Kane has now scored as many top-flight league goals in London derbies as Ian Wright (46).

1. Marcus Rashford (£7.0m)
Rashford is a man reborn under Ten Haag and post Cristiano Ronaldo’s exit. As United take on Man City and Palace in their double gameweek, with the possibility of having another one before GW22, United assets are a must-have for FPL managers looking to climb up the ranks.
The pacy forward came on as a substitute in United’s 3-0 win against Charlton in the League Cup and bagged a brace in the space of just 4 minutes. He now has 7 goals in his last 6 games, the most by a player in Europe’s top leagues since the World Cup. The Englishman now has 21 goal involvements (15 Goals + 6 Assists) in 25 appearances in all competitions. He’s in lethal form and could even be a solid captaincy option for the weeks to come.
