Southampton vs Liverpool – Predictor on BalleBaazi: Premier League 2021-22

Southampton host Liverpool tonight in a game whose result could confirm the winner of this season’s Premier League. If Liverpool lose tonight, Manchester City will be confirmed as champions for the fourth time in five seasons. It’s a must win game for Liverpool if they are to keep their Premier League title aspirations alive.

Will Liverpool Win The Match Against Southampton?

Jurgen Klopp has talked about the injury worries to his key players. Van Dijk and Salah both went off against Chelsea in the FA Cup final, and Fabinho is already on the sidelines. Also, Klopp was disappointed due to the extra thirty minutes Liverpool played on Saturday, as it has forced him to rest some of his important players tonight.

Sadio Mane, Thiago Alcantara, Andrew Robertson, Trent Alexander-Arnold and a few more big players are likely to begin the match on the bench. The situation does not look good for Liverpool.

However, they have some excellent players who will come into the starting eleven. Diogo Jota, Naby Keita, Roberto Firmino and Kostas Tsimikas are all more than good enough to get the job done.

Of course, due to the rotation, chances of a Liverpool win have slightly reduced, but they should and will get the job done against Southampton tonight.

Will Liverpool Score A Goal In The First Half Against Southampton?

Liverpool are arguably the best team in Europe at starting games on the front foot. Suffocating teams in their defensive third and getting an early goal is how Liverpool generally start their games and most of the time, it works.

Southampton have a coach whose philosophy is similar to Jurgen Klopp’s. Ralph Hasenhüttl’s teams also play at high intensity and like to dominate teams and press them all over the pitch.

However, Southampton’s pressing will have to be flawless; otherwise, Liverpool will vertically open up the Saints and create chances.

Due to the way Southampton press, chances of an early Liverpool goal are high.

Will There Be 3 Or More Goals In Liverpool vs Southampton?

As Liverpool are set to miss some of their most creative and goal scoring players, they might not score too many. However, with Jota, Firmino, Keita and potentially Jones also on the pitch, they could easily score a couple.

Van Dijk’s absence will be massive, which could be a pivotal factor in this game. Konate and Matip are excellent defenders, but the high line is likelier to get opened up in Van Dijk’s absence. As a result, there are chances of Liverpool failing to keep a clean sheet tonight.

A 2-1 win for Liverpool looks more likely than a 1-0 or a 2-0 win due to Van Dijk’s absence, however, there is a high possibility of three goals going in tonight.
