Points Per Cost vs Ownership
Using the above chart, we get a general reading on which players have gained more Points per Cost (PPC) based on ownership percentage.
As observed, Erling Haaland, Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho are the players with the highest ownership in the chart. Haaland, who has had a record breaking season for Man City with 17 goals in just games 11 so far, has the highest (PPC) ratio of the lot at 9.59. Meanwhile, Rashford, who looks rejuvenated under Ten Hag, is owned by 15.8% of FPL managers and has a PPC of 7.57.
In the lower ownership bracket of 1% or under, Leicester’s Dewsbury-Hall has the best PPC at 8.6. At just £5m, he’s scored 43 points so far. Meanwhile, Everton’s summer signing McNeil who is owned by just 0.1% of FPL managers, still manages to sneak into the list with the lowest PPC of them all at 5.57. Fellow Evertonian Mykolenko also features on the list, but performs much better in terms of PPC (8) as opposed to his McNeil. This is perhaps indicative of Everton’s solid defensive performances in the season so far.
Soucek, Davies and De Cordova-Reid are also some notable FPL names congregated in between with a good PPC ratio this season of 7.16, 6.73, and 7.63 respectively. In terms of price, Amartey is the cheapest on this list at just £4.3m, having a decent PPC of 6.04. Despite Leicester’s poor start to the season, 3 cleansheets in their last 3 games has seen Amartey amass 21 points in 270 minutes.
Points per Game vs Ownership
From the above chart, we get a general reading on which players have gotten more Points per Game (PPG) based on their ownership percentage.
Haaland again unsurprisingly has the highest PPG at 10.6 with a staggering ownership of 83.1%. In the high ownership bracket, Rashford has to settle for second place again as he has a PPG of just 4.54, with Chilwell following after.
Coming to the players who perform the best amongst those with the lowest ownership, Chalobah does really well with a PPG of 4.4, having kept 3 cleansheets in 5 of his starts for Chelsea. In the absence of the injured Fofana, he has stepped up well. Kelly of Bournemouth, who is currently out through injury, also managed to score a PPG of 4.6, with 2 assists to his name in the 5 starts he had.
Dewsbury-Hall Soucek, Bentancur, Partey, De Cordova-Reid, and Perraud are some of the players who feature on both charts, having PPGs of between 3 and 4, which is steady, but not too high.
Conclusion
While Haaland and Rashford are players who have a good PPV as well has PPG despite their high ownership, the Man City man is in a league of his own, beating out any competition by a country mile. Nevertheless, there are a lot of other good options in midfield and defense as well when it comes to players with lower ownership.
Evidently, points will not be on the higher side when selecting these players in your teams, especially the ones featuring in the PPG vs Ownership chart. But some of them can be differential budget options, while the rest will produce average returns of 3 to 4 PPG.
There are some players who have flown under the radar that have been identified thanks to the underlying data. Mitrovic’s points hauls have overshadowed De Cordova-Reid’s good start, while players who are not known for their end product – Partey and Bentancur, surprisingly feature on both charts.
When it comes to defenders, Southampton’s Perraud features twice too. In addition, Mykolenko, Davies, and Chalobah are defenders who also have a good PPC ratio.
Who are you picking then?
