If you ever had a doubt as to which is the premier football competition, this game week was one for you! While we say some breathtaking football, we wanted to shine a spotlight on the three best individual performances from this week’s UCL action.

3. Mohamed Salah
Got benched in the UCL, and Salah turned into Jordan with the blunt, saying,” I took that personally”. 3 goals in 6 minutes, the fastest-ever UCL hat trick, and people were talking about this man being finished. Yes, he has had a tough start to the season, but that’s only because of the high standards he has set for himself. 8 goals and 4A in 13 games, what more can the man do?
The 1-7 scoreline might make this match seem one-sided, but it’s essential to remember at halftime, the score was 1-1. Liverpool clicked into gear in the second half, especially after Salah’s introduction. He also became the top scoring African in the competition. With Man City up next, this is just the sort of confidence boost Salah needed to kick on in the Premier League.

2. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia
The nickname “Kvaradona” wasn’t just bestowed upon this man randomly by the Napoli faithful. Match after match, the Georgian delivered the goods. Truly a treat to watch. Yes, he does get the numbers, as he got a goal and an assist last night against Ajax, but it’s so much more. The tricks, the flicks, the cheeky one-twos, get used to pronouncing his name cause this man is going straight to the top.
The creative winger also was awarded the Man of the Match award for his performance. He completed 4 dribbles, created 2 chances, recovered the ball 4 times, and won 1 foul. A complete performance. He has been the driving force behind the splendid run Napoli is currently on. 12 points from 4 games, R16 qualification secured with 2 games to go, and top of Serie A, what a time to be a Napoli fan.
1. Lautaro Martinez
And finally, come to the most high-stakes match of this week’s UCL fixtures. Inter v Barca at the Camp Nou, one man stepped up and stole the headlines, Lautaro Martinez. The Inter striker seems to have gone under the radar, or everyone just expects him to ball out every time he dawns the blue and black of the Nerazzurri. He had been out of form for Inter, but he is a man who lives for the big occasions. A goal and an assist to send Barca down to the Europa League.
The touch, the composure, and the instincts to bury the shot for his goal were unreal. In a week where Dybala and Di Maria suffered injuries that could see them miss the World Cup, this performance from Martinez would certainly lift Argentine spirits.
