After 7 Successful Years At Juventus Where Is ‘La Joya’ Paulo Dybala Headed To Next?

Paulo Dybala’s contract at Juventus is set to expire and he looks poised to leave after a tremendous 7-year spell at the club. 115 goals and 48 assists for the Bianconeri as well as becoming the club captain, many saw him as the second coming of Del Piero at the club.

The diminutive striker has played in multiple positions and systems but always oozes class. His vision and cultured left foot certainly make him stand apart.

While injuries and lack of form have seen his numbers drop, everyone knows what he is capable of. At 28, he is entering his peak and any club signing him would be able to get at least 5 years out of him at his best.

In the Finalissima against Italy, he reminded everyone of just how good he is with a goal in his short cameo for Argentina.

In an interview, he told ESPN: “I am quite calm. The people who I work with are taking care [of it]. In Italy, I am very comfortable, [but] I would still like to know other leagues like the Premier League [and] La Liga. But I’m happy in Italy.”

So what’s next for La Joya?

The Biggest Rumour: Inter Milan

Will Dybala follow in the footsteps of Zlatan and Viera in swapping Juve for Inter?

Sky Italia recently reported that Inter and Dybala have a contract agreement in place but still need to decide if they are going to go ahead with it. Inter signing him would give Juventus a taste of their own medicine, i.e. of routinely buying their rivals’ best players.

Inter are in a really strong position, and signing Dybala would bolster their attack as Dzeko is reaching the end of his career. A link-up with Lautaro Martinez would be really exciting and would put Inter in a strong position to win back the Serie A title.

His versatility would give Inzaghi tactical flexibility as well. We could see a front two of Lautaro and Dybala or him playing as a no 10 or part of a two behind Lautaro as the lone striker.

It’s an exciting move that already looks to be in motion, and Inter will want to sign him up.

Wildcard Option: Liverpool

Could Dybala be the perfect Mane replacement?

Liverpool have confirmed that Sadio Mane will be leaving the club and with Firmino’s numbers dropping year on year, Liverpool could do with another attacker. Step forward, Paulo Dybala. Someone already well versed with playing as a false 9, he would seamlessly fit into the lineup. His creativity will also add another dimension to the Reds’ attack.

At the moment, Liverpool still struggle to break down resolute defences who sit deep, as it contrived to be against Real Madrid in last season’s UEFA Champions League final. They lack someone who can create something out of nothing against stubborn defences despite having the likes of Luis Diaz and Mo Salah in their attack.

Dybala is just that kind of player who can conjure up some magic. Yes, he can be wasteful on the ball, but Klopp would certainly could get a tune out of him. A frontline of Salah, Dybala and Diaz would send a shiver down any defender’s spine.

Some clever negotiating would be needed to get this deal over the line, but if this deal goes through, it’ll give Pep Guardiola a few sleepless nights, to say the least.
