Wales vs Belgium – Top Fantasy Picks On BalleBaazi: UEFA Nations League 2022-23

Wales host Belgium at the Cardiff City Stadium as the home side sit at the bottom of the group with no wins from their first two games. They had the big play-off final against Ukraine between the two Nations League games, which forced Ryan Giggs to rest his key players.

They lost their first game against Poland, followed by the win against Ukraine in the final World Cup qualifier, before losing to Netherlands in their second game in the Nations League. Due to the recent results, this game against Belgium is a must-win for Ryan Giggs’ side.

Wayne Hennessey – 8.5

Wayne Hennessey will most likely be back in goal for this big game after his spectacular performance against Ukraine in the play-off final.

He made a tremendous 9 saves in the play-off final, with 4 saves against shots taken from inside the box. He also registered 8 successful long balls.

With Belgium likely to create a number of chances tonight, Hennessey will be an important player for the home side.

Neco Williams – 9

Neco Williams was also brilliant in the game against Ukraine. He is predominantly an attacking full-back who is not known much for his defending. However, with Ukraine dominating possession and creating several chances, Williams had to be robust defensively, and he was exceptional.

Williams’ defensive performance was one of the best on the pitch – He won 7 out of 8 ground duels and blocked 1 shot. He also completed 5 clearances, 2 interceptions and 5 tackles against Ukraine.

With Belgium having some of the best-attacking talents in Europe, Williams will have to have a good game defensively.

Toby Alderweireld – 8.5

Toby Alderweireld had a great game in the 6-1 win against Poland. He has always been excellent at passing the ball forward, and once again, his distribution was decisive.

Alderweireld completed 7 long balls and recorded a passing accuracy of 93%. He also made 1 clearance off the line and 4 clearances in total.

With Wales also likely to sit deep and deny Belgium space in the final third, Alderweireld’s passing range could be a weapon which can help Belgium unlock the Welsh defence.

Leander Dendoncker – 8.5

Another player who had a good game against Poland was Dendoncker. He scored one of the six goals for Belgium and completed 7 long balls and recorded a passing accuracy of 89%.

Against Wales tonight, he is likely to move into midfield as Tielemans could be rested tonight. Dendoncker’s main position is in midfield, but his game reading and physicality allow him to be a robust defender as well.

With Wales likely to defend in a low block, Belgium might have to rely on set-pieces to get a goal and Dendoncker’s aerial ability is one of the best, and he could be the player who makes the difference tonight.

Axel Witsel – 8.5

Another Belgium midfielder who you should pick in your fantasy team on BalleBaazi is Axel Witsel. He also got onto the scoresheet in the win over Poland.

He recorded 99% passing accuracy and was brilliant defensively as well. Witsel completed 2 interceptions and 1 clearance against Poland.

He will be a key player for Belgium as they will face quick players on the counter-attack, and could be the key to stopping Wales’ attacks.

Leandro Trossard – 9

Leandro Trossard had a splendid game against Poland. He scored a brace in the 6-1 win despite being on the pitch for just 24 minutes. Trossard took 2 shots, and both of them ended in the back of the net. He also recorded a 70% success rate in his dribbles in the Premier League last season which shows how adept he is in attack.

Against Wales, who will most probably play in a low to medium block, Trossard is the ideal player to have in your team.

He is excellent at handling the ball in tight spaces and has a low centre of gravity which allows him to beat defenders in and around the box.

He’s also got an eye for goal and could be a valuable pick for your fantasy team tonight.

Gareth Bale – 10

Gareth Bale is likely to start this game after playing just 13 minutes against Netherlands. With the win necessary against Belgium, Giggs will need his skipper to have a telling effect on the game.

Wales will play on the counter-attack, and Gareth Bale’s pace will once again be Wales’ primary weapon to create chances.

Bale is also excellent aerially and at set-pieces, and he will need to be decisive in the final third to get Wales a goal against Belgium.
